What it does

Cosmic Chorus uses the classic dual-BBD principle: the signal feeds two very short bucket-brigade delay paths whose delay times are continuously modulated 180° apart from each other. Moving a delay time also creates subtle pitch movement, so mixing those moving delayed signals back with the dry signal produces the thick, swimming character of classic analogue chorus.

Because the two BBD paths move against one another across left and right rather than in the same direction, the stereo image opens up instead of the whole sound wobbling in one direction. Compander filtering adds further BBD-style character, Mode I and II offer two distinct measured voicings, and the added vibrato stage plus tempo-synced UNDULATION push the idea beyond a traditional fixed-rate chorus.

Highlights

  • Dual-BBD architecture — two modulated bucket-brigade delay paths
  • 180° modulation relationship — left and right movement swim against one another for stereo width
  • Mode I / II — two distinct measured chorus voicings
  • Pre-BBD vibrato — additional LFO Amount / Rate stage
  • UNDULATION — tempo-synced modulation option, from free-running through bar, straight, dotted and triplet divisions
  • Compander filtering — BBD-style pre/de-emphasis character
  • EXPORT MODE — 4x oversampling for higher-quality final renders
